Maj looked after us this evening and was a fabulous host. We loved every dish, especially the tamarind explosion chicken, which deserves a special mention. I felt a little bad about skipping our favourite Indian restaurant in Watchet this time, but everything I’d read about the revamped Washford Inn as a Desi pub made the special trip feel worthwhile. I hope the place keeps growing from strength to strength.

The food is the main draw here. The curries are rich and full of flavour without being too overpowering, and the naan comes soft and warm, just right for sharing. Portions are generous, everything was presented nicely and arrived piping hot. The Washford Inn feels welcoming as soon as you come in, with friendly staff who pay attention without hovering. Service was polite and efficient, so the meal felt relaxed. Whether eating in or getting takeaway, the quality seems consistently high. A comfortable spot for Indian food, and I’ll be back.

We went for a birthday and were given a complimentary drink. The food was good and nicely presented, and the staff were friendly. Maj and I had some good banter, even though he supports Arsenal!

The menu had plenty to choose from, so I’ll need another visit to try some of the other main courses. The food was delicious, and it was well worth the short drive from Minehead. This is a review of the Indian restaurant only. The staff were friendly.
