Alexander Paddington Apartments

The apartment could use a refresh and a coat of paint, but it was adequate for us and well equipped, including a full size washing machine that could come in handy for a longer holiday. Paddington Basin, with its lovely river barges, is a short walk away, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. I especially liked The Frontline Club for its friendly staff and good food. Satay house is also worth recommending for great food at reasonable prices.

It has all the amenities, which is handy, though the apartments are a bit small. A family with young kids should be fine, but four adults would find it a challenge. The area is busy, so expect noise until late.

We only made it through the first night of the 8 days we had booked, then left. We stayed at the end of November 2020, after booking through Hotels.com, where the apartment was listed as Staysguru Paddington. It was the worst apartment experience we'd had. The place was dirty and hadn't been cleaned after someone stayed there. The bath lid was held on with a cable tie, the bed clothes were used and dirty, and the soil was sticky. It was awful. After we discussed it with them, they agreed to reimburse us for part of what we paid.

We had a leak in the ceiling, but it was dealt with quickly and professionally. They moved us to another room without any hassle, and the price reflected that professional response. The place is right in the middle of Paddington, with links everywhere and in a nice part of London, and it was very cheap. I'd recommend it.
