Rosewood London

The biggest extra for us was the guest-only entrance to Scarfes, the hotel’s on-site bar. It’s one of the top bars in the world, and non-guests queue each night. We went twice and got a table right away both times. We’ll absolutely choose Rosewood again on our next London trip. My wife and I spent a long weekend at Rosewood London and had an amazing time. The rooms and service are top notch, and the hotel is right by Holborn Underground station. Its two lines make it easy to get around the city, including to Kings Cross and Heathrow. It’s a lovely place to relax after a long day exploring.

The dinner was exceptional, and the scarf bar was incredibly good. My partner works at Chancery Rosewood, so we had the chance to spend our Valentines at Rosewood London. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and professional, the room was beautifully designed, and every detail felt carefully thought through. It felt luxurious but still welcoming, making for a perfect escape. An absolutely amazing stay.

The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas, and the relaxed atmosphere made afternoon tea a lovely way to spend a few hours. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the menu was carefully put together and presented, and we enjoyed the selection of savoury and sweet treats.

The room was luxurious and very comfortable, the lobby beautiful, and housekeeping meticulous. I stayed at the Rosewood for six nights at nearly £1,000 a night, but the experience felt mediocre for a five-star hotel, with nothing that stood out as exceptional. I didn’t get a warm welcome at the entrance or reception. There was no small talk or sense of hospitality, and the whole interaction felt bland. I’m from Qatar and wear a headscarf. On several occasions, staff spoke to my husband directly without acknowledging me or making eye contact. It felt strange and uncomfortable. I don’t know whether they assumed it was inappropriate to speak to me directly or thought I couldn’t speak English, but either way it was disappointing. I travel often in Europe and the United States and have never been treated this way before. Breakfast was mediocre too. The buffet was only available at weekends, while on weekdays there was a set menu with very limited options. The hotel looks impressive and is well maintained, but the stay felt average and didn’t meet my expectations of a true five-star hotel.
