The village setting was lovely, and it was perfect for visiting a friend nearby. The rooms were lovely, the host was very welcoming, and we’d stay again. Don’t miss breakfast, it’s good value and includes eggs laid by local hens. The cake sale was fantastic too, everything was made in house, and the honey is a must. One thing to note: check-in is from 4.30-9.30, and checking in outside those hours costs extra.

The owners were very friendly and made a great breakfast. We also enjoyed staying at the Cottage Guest House and highly recommend it. It’s tucked away in a village, with clean, bright rooms, comfortable beds and linens, and a beautiful garden to wake up to. It was quiet despite being so close to the airport. You can get to the airport by local bus, though the short walk to the stop is a bit tricky with suitcases. We took the owners up on their airport ride, which costs extra. For dinner, The Three Willows is about a 15 minute walk away.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely old property, with its well cared for garden. It was very clean, and only a short taxi ride from Stansted mountfitchet station. Two of us skipped the cooked breakfast, but the food we did have was delicious. The third person had the cooked breakfast and really enjoyed it. We’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

The host was really sweet and courteous, helping me find my way around and answering all my questions. The place has a freshly remodeled, homey feel, and it was my first time in UK. It’s a bit far from the nearest town, so you need to take a bus to get food or coffee. The bus stop is right across the driveway from the cottage, which makes getting around fairly easy. It seems like a good place to stay if you’re stranded at the airport, need to change your flight, or just want a few days away to rest.

The beds were very comfortable, and all the rooms are en suite and well appointed. This is a lovely family run guest house in a rural setting, with great food and service. The original building is very old and has been extended over the years, with lovely features including wooden beams and arched rectory windows. The breakfast room looks out over the gardens. A lovely place to stay.
