The Waves Bar Cafe B and B Hotel

The staff at The Waves deserve so much credit. I'm a tough critic, and I've found inattentive service even in good restaurants, but the team here have it nailed. They're young, friendly, know their jobs, greet you when you arrive and keep on top of everything. Nothing is too much. Well done, Jayne and Steve 👏🏻👏🏻 We've been regulars for ages and drop in for coffee, a beer, snacks and ice cream with our sons, quiz nights and the incredible Tapas nights. The owners, Steve and Jayne, always make us feel welcome. The food and beers are brilliant, and the place is warm every time you walk in. The location is great too, with a new decked area out front overlooking lovely Minnis Bay beach. They're always making improvements with new decor and ideas. I've stayed here several times, and it's always been absolutely lovely. The staff are so friendly that it feels like visiting family, and they're always there when you need something. The rooms are lovely, and I've had the best night's sleep. The food is plentiful, with lots to choose from and that home cooked feel. It's dog friendly too, so you don't have to leave part of your family at home. The views are beautiful. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

After walking the dogs on the beach, we often pop in for hot chocolate and sometimes food. On 8 February, I ordered two hot chocolates, a fanta and a bacon sandwich for my grandson. Everything was fine apart from the bread, which was the thinnest sliced I've ever seen. Please use thick sliced bread for the sandwiches, it would improve them.

Recently refurbished, this is a nice bar and restaurant with friendly, helpful staff. It's clean and tidy, and a good place to eat, drink and mingle. Dogs are definitely welcome. The new outdoor decking areas are a nice addition for dining, and the views are fab from indoors and out. There's live music and tapas nights too. What's not to like?
