The room was spacious and comfortable, and the beds were great. Everything was so central that we could walk to the places we wanted to see. The staff were lovely and always willing to help. The gentleman who checked us in early on the 28th was especially kind. We'd mixed up our flights and arrived far too early, but he did all he could to get our room ready, which we really appreciated. We didn't have time to try the bar or restaurant while we were out exploring, though they looked good and the prices seemed reasonable. A pool and gym are available at their sister hotel less than a minute away. Transport was convenient too: Waverley Station is under a 13-minute walk, and the airport bus stops nearby. It was our first visit to Edinburgh and definitely won't be our last. We absolutely plan to come back to this hotel. Highly recommend it, as it's got everything you need.
There was a water fountain with good-quality water beside the elevator, handy for refilling bottles and saving money. We also really appreciated how many wall sockets the room had, a 10/10 for convenience. The room itself was spacious. The hotel is close to Victoria street and the Castle, with 95% of attractions within walking distance.
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel, which is a little dated but in a unique, extremely central spot with an unobstructed view of Edinburgh Castle. We parked in the hotel's own car park, and almost every tourist bus tour leaves from right outside. Old Town is easy to reach on foot. Renovations were happening while we were there. Our room looked a bit worn, though it was clean. The staff were friendly. The continental buffet was adequate, but I'd strongly recommend ordering something from the à la carte menu.
We stayed for a birthday weekend, and everyone made sure we had a great time. Amos was always turning up with beers and a smile, Martina put together a lovely birthday display, and Stella helped make the room more comfortable for us. I'd really recommend this hotel for its brilliant location.
The castle-view king suite was beautiful and clean, with stunning views, and we loved the little Apex Hotel duck souvenir and complimentary coffee station. We also booked breakfast for the next morning. There was an extensive cooked menu, and we both found what we wanted, with a few things from the continental buffet too. Every staff member greeted us with a smile and was attentive. They were friendly and approachable, and the service was excellent. Thanks for making our short stay so welcoming and enjoyable.
