The breakfast was the worst part for me. Continental alone was £15.50 for porridge, cereal, shop bought pastries, some fruit and juice, and I thought that price was outrageous. The coffee wasn’t good either, though I suppose that’s what you expect at a hotel. I paid £18.50 for continental plus a hot dish both mornings. The Scottish breakfast on day one was all right, but not worth the price. On day two I ordered American French Toast, which was one piece of stale bread that seemed deep fried, topped with about eight pieces of bacon and maple syrup. The bacon seemed to hide how little bread there was, and I couldn’t cut through the crust. Horrible. I’d recommend finding a cafe or somewhere else for breakfast. The hotel itself was quite good. I was there on a business trip, and the spacious room had modern features mixed with traditional Scottish decor, a large shower and heated mirror. It’s off a main road, so it was quiet, and reception staff were helpful. I asked for room cleaning on just one of three days, but they didn’t vacuum or replace the coffee supplies. I’d recommend the hotel, but the breakfast is shamefully overpriced.

We had a lovely time at Parliament House Hotel and will definitely come back. The room was large, comfortable and very cosy, with a smart TV that was great for relaxing on holiday evenings. The bathroom was a good size, with a nice walk in shower, and everything was clean. The hotel was quiet from outside noise, even though most sights were within walking distance. The receptionist was lovely and friendly, and offered recommendations for places to eat and visit. Breakfast is served every morning, with cereals, fruit, pastries and cooked dishes to order. We enjoyed ours. A real hidden gem!

Our trip started with travel problems when our first flight to Edinburgh was cancelled and we were rebooked for the following day. We told the hotel we’d arrive a day late, and they replied promptly and were very accommodating. Check-in was easy, and the hotel manager escorted us to our room. I know people have mentioned getting luggage upstairs, but there’s an elevator you can use. My husband and I had a wonderful stay last month. The room was beautiful, and the hotel staff were great. At MP's bistro, I had avocado toast with poached eggs and really enjoyed it; my husband liked his scotch breakfast. There were lots of options. The location is great for restaurants, pubs and shopping, and there’s a lovely park a short walk behind the hotel. We’d recommend it and definitely return.

A beautiful old building with a nice blend of modern and old school, and a disused ancient lift at its heart. My room had recently been refurbished, with a comfortable bed and a decent bathroom with a very good shower. The location was excellent, and the service was good. The cooked breakfast wasn’t great, but the other options were fine. Recommended.

We were very happy with our stay and would choose Parliament Hotel again on our next trip to Edinburgh. The room was bigger than expected, clean and tidy, and staff cleaned it daily and left tea and coffee. Wifi was stable. We skipped breakfast since it was £15-20 per person. It’s a little pricey, but worth it for the location. The Scot monument is about three minutes away, with lots of restaurants, cafes and two shopping centres nearby. Calton Hill is right in the back yard. Thanks!
