For a hotel in the budget range, this place delivers more than I expected. It’s easy to find and very well placed for getting around quickly. The railway station is a four-minute walk, and the team on the same square goes straight to the airport. Staff were extremely friendly, and the modern hotel was very clean. I had no issues with the room, though the view wasn’t great. Then again, who books a hotel for the view? I’d certainly stay again.

Edinburgh is small enough that it’s easy to walk to the Old Town, nearby shops and restaurants, or up to the Castle. Waverly Station is about a five-minute walk away. The hotel itself is comfortable, with a welcoming lobby and interesting furnishings and artwork. The rooms are nicely done and comfortable. They may feel small to American visitors, but as a solo traveler mine was just right. If you’re two people, a suitcase stand would be useful. Everything seemed recently updated and worked well, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was good and never felt rushed.

The rooms are thoughtfully designed, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, too. It’s in a brilliant spot. Book it, you won’t be disappointed, and we’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast was EXCELLENT, with loads to choose from. The haggis was especially good, as was the scrambled egg. Check-in went smoothly, and we were delighted to get a twin room overlooking St Andrews Sq in a great Edinburgh location. The room had plenty of towels and nice toiletries in the en suite shower room, though it could have used more coat hangers.

We came back for a second visit and enjoyed it just as much. The rooms are spacious for Edinburgh and come with lovely toiletries. Staff are so friendly and helpful. The bar has a lovely atmosphere and is a great place for a nightcap, and they make a lovely hot chocolate too.
