Comfort Zone Serviced Apartments

We were given parking and keys without any trouble, but the apartment was a letdown as soon as we got inside. It looked nothing like the photos and seemed dirty and run down. There were hairs in the shower, the toilet bowl wasn’t clean, the bed cushions were stained and there were marks all over the walls. We’d booked it for a friend’s birthday, so seeing it in that state was a real disappointment. We’d asked by email for a balcony because of one guest’s health issues, but the door was duct taped shut and couldn’t be used. That caused her severe stress and was another eyesore. Things got more uncomfortable when we returned from our night out in the early hours. The receptionist called, suggesting we had more people than allowed, then appeared in the apartment seconds later. We’d only just got in and were getting undressed. As a group of young women back from a night drinking, we found his behavior very uncomfortable, and didn’t feel safe for the rest of the stay. We slept very badly. I think this needs urgent investigation. A week later, our £200 deposit still hadn’t been returned. They were keeping it without giving a reason or explanation, and I’m still waiting to hear from Comfort Zone Serviced Apartments. I’ll probably have to take it up with the bank. It’s appalling to scam people out of money. The listing says reception closes overnight and gave us a number to call for out of hours problems, so it was strange to find the receptionist waiting in the lobby. It felt as though he was watching for a chance to catch people out and take another £200. The location is great, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
