Work booked me in here, and I'd say it was alright, though not especially good. The room had some defects, and parts of it were worn out or damaged, so I'd suggest taking pictures before your stay in case you need them. Some things, especially the dishes, didn't feel clean, so I'd wash those too. Other than that, it's an okay place to stay.

AVOID, THIS IS A SCAM! I've stayed here before, like several other reviewers, and it used to be really good value. This time, after booking, I got a confirmation email but no directions for getting into the apartment. People who live in the block permanently confirmed that since management changed a couple of months ago, guests have been getting scammed. They said they'd seen many genuine guests left stranded late at night after paying and booking a room they couldn't access. Nobody answers the phone or replies to emails. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK!

The lack of double glazing was the only thing keeping this from a five star stay. It was a bit noisy when we were trying to sleep. The bedroom was lovely and the bed comfortable, while the bathroom was gorgeous and the kitchen, dining, and living area was lovely too. The heating worked well, so we were nice and warm despite the cold outside. We had a nice meal, plenty of tea and coffee, and relaxed watching TV. The room was ideal otherwise. It was a great base for our overnight Birmingham visit, with a bus stop five minutes' walk away for getting into the city centre. I gave it four stars, though really it should be 4.8. We'd have no hesitation staying here again if we visit Birmingham.

I won't book here again. Checking other Google reviews, I can see others have had similar problems with neglect and unprofessionalism. I've stayed at this property several times, and the standards have dropped quickly: dirty rooms and dishes, mould in the shower, poor maintenance, barely working Wi-Fi, and no staff on-site when I needed help. The cancellation was the worst part. Booking.com confirmed the property received a £138 cancellation fee, but they still refused to refund me and ignored several emails and calls from both me and Booking.com. That shows little regard for customer trust or professional conduct, and I believe it breaches consumer law.
