The Kingstanding Inn

I had to leave just two hours after checking in because of a personal issue, after booking five nights. I asked several times for a refund for the other four nights, since the room could still have been used, but management refused. A shocking decision. The room wasn't great, and neither was the location. There was no kettle, and the shower kept dripping. I suppose you sometimes get what you pay for, but I wouldn't recommend it even as a last resort.

I arrived at midnight with nowhere to stay, out of pocket and treated with no respect. I'd paid in advance and had a confirmed booking, but the front desk said there was no room available and made little effort to sort anything out. The manager was dismissive, rude, and unprofessional instead of apologising or helping, and seemed unwilling to take responsibility. Absolutely unacceptable. Save yourself the stress and book somewhere else.

There was music blaring until 1 AM, and the room was awful. The carpet was stained and hadn't been vacuumed; the walls had holes, and the window was cracked with broken safety arms. For two people, they left only one hand towel and one bath towel. There wasn't a rubbish bin, and I found a hand towel stuffed down beside the bed, so I don't think the room had been cleaned.

We booked just one night but lasted less than five minutes in the room. It reeked of stale smoke, and the bathroom smelled worse. Someone had left a number two in the toilet. The room was filthy: dirty walls, sticky splashes everywhere, a badly burnt carpet, and disgusting beds. There were locals smoking weed in the doorway, loud music on a Wednesday night, and several possibly drunk people hanging around. As two women, my friend and I didn't feel safe. It looked like the door code had been given to locals too drunk to get home, so they were sleeping there. Definitely neither clean nor safe. Avoid it.
