Jed and I had a lovely weekend at Westgate Manor. Our room was stunning, with a beautiful freestanding bath, a roomy shower and lovely views. It was quiet and remote, very romantic, and well worth the rather costly stay. Stewart and Catherine were attentive and personable, and the service was lovely. The food was amazing, Catherine must be a chef. We had an evening meal of lamb shank and stuffed chicken, plus two cooked breakfasts. Just beautiful. Thanks for a lovely weekend.

We’ve already booked again for next year. Our room was delightful, and our hosts were happy to help with anything. The breakfasts were so good that we’re looking forward to trying the evening meals too. What a fantastic place to stay!

The four-poster rooms were the wow factor, decorated to a really high standard and full of thoughtful touches. We stayed one night before dropping our son at Durham Uni, and Stuart and Katherine looked after us exceptionally well. They greeted us by name in the car park, and the attentive, personal care continued until we left. Dinner and breakfast were very good, and they offered us a superb bottle of wine with a very reasonable mark-up. We’d highly recommend Westgate Manor and hope to return.

A beautiful old house full of history and character, with a large room and incredibly high-standard decor. Stuart and Kathryn were superb hosts, with lovely details like fresh milk for early tea or coffee and underfloor bathroom heating. It’s bike-friendly too. We enjoyed local ale by the lounge fire and a lovely homemade evening meal. Absolutely fantastic.

Our engagement stay at Westgate Manor was a surprise, and the place felt idyllic. We loved the beautiful grounds and the peaceful gardens, where we sat in the morning. Our room was the best I’ve ever stayed in, immaculately clean and full of lovely features, with a bonus view over the gardens. The hosts were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you so much. I won’t forget this special stay.
