The bed and bedding were clean, and a friendly, engaging woman welcomed me. But the room felt tired, and dirt around the window panes made me think things weren’t as they should be. There were coffee-making facilities and a bottle that looked like fresh water. When I picked it up, I could tell it had been refilled and the top wasn’t clean. I ran my finger inside and found a grey, creamy residue. That’s not what you’d expect. It’s not an expensive place, but I wouldn’t return. Maybe being up for sale explains it.

The house had a tasteful feel, and the garden was lovely. A very pleasant stay.

The stay was good, though the room was way too hot.

Everything was great. It’s a typical English house with guest rooms, and the woman who runs it was very friendly.
