The room was tiny and basic, with no blinds, so we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy. The bathroom smelled unpleasant, there was a large hair on the sink, and an empty bottle had been left on top of the shower. Tea, coffee and milk sachets came in a plastic takeaway container. The guesthouse is on a very run-down residential street, although the landings inside were nicely decorated. The staff member we saw when leaving the next day was pleasant, but we wouldn't stay again.

We only stayed one night with our two children, and the clean room had what we needed. It was very small, with a double bed and bunks squeezed together and a tiny bathroom, but that was fine for one night. The heating had made the room boiling, though we managed to turn it off. The woman who greeted us was friendly and helpful, and parking was a bonus. Main attractions were only a 10 minute walk away. I would come back.

For £40, our family of four slept well and stayed warm in a clean, tidy room with a double bed, a king bed and an ensuite. The windows opened for ventilation, and the radiator stayed on throughout, which we appreciated. It was a great location and the free parking was useful. We knew in advance there was no breakfast, but if you see it advertised, it seems they don't offer it anymore. You get what you pay for, so don't expect Premier Inn standards or an exquisite room. Still, I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend it for an inexpensive, comfortable stay.

The owner was so welcoming and friendly, and happy to help with anything. This is a lovely little guest house with clean rooms and the basics you need. It's easy to walk to the Tower from here. I'd highly recommend it for a weekend away.
