Joy, who runs the property, is lovely and so hospitable. The bed was very comfortable, and at £34 I suppose I got what I paid for. Still, I’d like to return, but the problems mean I won’t. The radiator wouldn’t come on, so I was cold throughout my stay. The shower pressure was extremely weak and the water freezing, which made it unbearable. The remote worked, but the TV didn’t respond, so I was stuck on the worst channel in the world with no way to switch it off or adjust the volume 😂 Thanks for having me, Joy, and I hope your cold has got better.

For just £9 per person on a Friday night, I think you have to focus on the positives. The check-in was quick, and my clean room and bathroom had a comfortable bed and a lovely view from the window. If the bed is clean and comfy, I’m a happy man. Five stars 🙂

This was our second stay at The White Moon, and it definitely won’t be the last. We were there for the Rebellion festival at The Winter Gardens, a 5-10 minute walk away. The location is great, the room was clean and nicely presented, and the double bed was very comfortable. Babs is a perfect host, always happy to help, and her breakfast is second to none. Thanks again, Babs, for making us feel so welcome. Can’t wait for next year.

I’d give it no stars if I could. We booked a family room for five, two adults and three children, but it was tiny. It hadn’t been cleaned at all: the bedding was stained and worn from washing, the carpets were grubby, wires dangled below the TV, the spoons were dirty and rusty, and the bathroom was minging. There was dust everywhere, and worst of all, a box of the previous guests’ pills had been left on the coffee tray. Luckily, I found it before the kids did. Our booking included breakfast, but when I asked about it, I was told they no longer serve it. That wasn’t reflected in the cost. We lasted 20 minutes before booking somewhere more suitable. There was barely room to move, let alone sleep four people and put up the cot. The place looks nothing like the advertised photos, it’s well overpriced and completely unsuitable for families. The owner also refused to refund us despite the state of the place. Avoid at all costs.
