The room was spacious, with a big window looking out to sea, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It’s only a few minutes’ walk to the train station or the center, including Blackpool Tower, yet the spot is calm and quiet. The bathroom had no soap, but otherwise everything was perfect.

We wanted a cheap, reasonably priced family hotel, ideally on the North Shore seafront, and found this one. The owners were friendly and showed us to a room with a sea view. One side of the hotel is being refurbished, but it didn’t affect our stay. Great weekend.

We had a clean, comfortable weekend here and will definitely be back soon. The owners are friendly and down to earth, and made us feel welcome straight away, even greeting us with a bottle :) You can relax and be yourself here without worrying about being extra quiet or walking on eggshells.

The Halloween decorations were impressive, with cobwebs in every room and blood-stained curtains. Then I remembered Halloween was still seven months away. The Aloha was an absolutely vile place, and the owners were creepy. With all the bugs I had to sleep alongside, it felt like a bushtucker trial. Two nights was enough.

My husband and I left a day early because the room made us feel physically sick and our skin crawl. For us, this was the very worst hotel we’ve stayed in across nearly 20 years of visits to Blackpool. The building had scaffolding in front, so we couldn’t use the front door, and there was a water tank in the room. There were cobwebs around the ceiling, filthy cornices, dirty surfaces and picture tops, a dirty net curtain and window, and a broken window handle. The owner said the cleaner couldn’t reach the cornices, but I managed to wipe one at just 5ft 3in, and the sponge came away filthy. I have photos. The owner also said the duvet cover had been laundered, though it had a dirty mark. The valance sheet had dark stains and a cigarette burn. There was a long hair on the lamp stand, and the mirrors and other glass were filthy. In the bathroom, there were stains on the floor behind the sink, mildew along the bottom of the shower curtain, a loose towel rail, dead flies in the light and dust filling the extractor fan. The toilet brush was filthy, and a socket on the other side of the wall had no on/off switch. Sockets weren’t properly fixed to the wall and seemed a fire hazard. I don’t understand why a hotel with over 20 rooms can’t keep them clean and tidy. I have three daughters, work as a full-time carer and keep a three-bedroom house clean to my satisfaction. This was a horrible experience for me and my DISABLED husband.
