Black Pearl Luxury Apartments

Avoid this place. We paid £200 for one night and arrived with excited kids to a scruffy, dangerous apartment. The bedding was dirty, flies were splatted on the walls, handles were hanging off, and the oven looked like it should have been thrown out years ago. There were smashed kitchen floor tiles and leaking windows too. I’d give zero stars if I could.

We only had one night, and wished we could’ve stayed longer. The apartment felt homely, the beds and pillows were really comfortable, and it was cleaner and newer-looking than we expected. Our kids enjoyed it, and customer service responded quickly when we needed help. We’d definitely book again.

The apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped, with tea, coffee, sugar and washing up supplies provided. Staff were helpful and replied quickly, and our deposit came back within 12 hours. Cost Cutter at the end of the road was limited and very expensive, though there’s another shop at the other end. We parked outside briefly to unload, then used Central car park, a short walk away and £26 for three days. I’ll definitely book again.

This would be a good option for families: the apartment is spacious, in a central spot and good value, with nice fittings like waterfall bathroom taps and USB sockets in the bedroom. On our stay, cleanliness was hit and miss. Some beds had hairs on them, which really upset my autistic daughter and left her with a very bad night’s sleep. The carpets weren’t cleaned well, the area beside the toilet was gross, and the toilet leaked while the shower was blocked. The oven glove was awful too, hopefully just an oversight. Management responded quickly and well to our concerns. The apartments are nice, just not very clean on this occasion.
