Cavendish Hotel

I came down from Scotland for my mate's stag do and stayed at the cavendish for one night. Mike and Matt were brilliant hosts, really helpful and always ready to do whatever they could. Breakfast was delicious, and there was plenty of tea and coffee with refills offered. It was a bargain for what we paid, and I'll definitely book again next time I'm back.

The place was clean and basically alright, but we won't be back. On arrival we were asked for an extra £10 for Saturday night, even though I'd already called three times and nobody had mentioned it. The staff seemed unsure of things. We were told to come for breakfast at 8:30, but when I came down at 9 I was told I couldn't have any. I never saw anyone eating or anyone around in the mornings, and we didn't get breakfast on any of the days we were meant to. The shower was horrible, tiny, and swung between freezing and boiling. The hotel felt old-fashioned and cheap, like they were going out of business and didn't care. It felt like it was all about money. The man also took his mood out on us because our TV was a bit louder than usual during the fireworks, saying we'd be left on the streets if we didn't turn it down. At 10 sharp, while we were packed and ready to leave, he banged on our door threatening another night's charge. We only wanted to wait in our room because our bags were heavy to carry downstairs. Then we had to sit on the stairs for half an hour. When he finally let us into the lounge, he offered drinks to two other customers but ignored us. When I asked for one, he laughed in our face and said no. We were treated disgustingly.

Pleasant by name and nature. We enjoyed our stay in Blackpool and would come back without hesitation.

The owners at the Cavendish were so kind and helpful when my boyfriend and I stayed from Friday to Sunday a few months ago. I couldn't find a parking space, so the owner moved his own car and let me use his permit and the space. When one opened up, he moved his car himself. They also lent us plates and cutlery when we returned with a takeaway, and were happy to top up our milk and tea bags when we ran out. That was a lovely contrast with another Blackpool hotel we stayed at a few months later, where they wouldn't lend us plates or cutlery at 9pm because the kitchen was closed. Thanks, Cavendish. We'll definitely stay there next time we're in Blackpool.
