We picked the place for convenience and mainly just used room 9 for sleeping. It's rather small, and getting into the shower was a bit tight. It could probably do with redecorating, though since we barely spent time there, I can't complain too much. Parking nearby was good, and the location was handy for Coral Island, Macdonald's and the winter gardens.

The bed and location were the only positives at Fern Villa Hotel. There's black mould throughout, and in the twin room the hot water was mostly cold for much of the day, apparently because it runs on a timer. Things like the toilet handle and shower need repairs. Even on a budget, I'd strongly advise against staying here. Avoid everything else.

An awful place, with horrible, rude and disrespectful people. There are easily 100 better value places where you'd be welcomed and made to feel at home. This stay was a complete nightmare. Never again.

Friendly service and clean, pleasant rooms. The hotel is very close to Blackpool town centre, with the best cafés, restaurants and shops nearby.

The comfortable bed and location near North Pier and the shops were good. Our room was small, and the worst part was being beside the door between the rooms and the landing. Whenever someone opened it, our bedroom door shook badly and woke us up. There was a bar in the lounge, but we didn't use it. No breakfast was offered, so I haven't rated the service. The woman was very friendly and left out tea, coffee, milk and sugar for guests to help themselves.
