The price was a bargain, and breakfast was included. It was really nice, and the staff were so friendly about bringing more tea or toast. Our room was basic, but very clean, and the beds were super comfy. We stayed in Blackpool for our annual magic convention at the Winter Gardens, and the guest house’s adjacent car park with security cameras was a bonus. Couldn’t fault it for the money. We’ll definitely stay again.

The location was lovely, close to the shops and main pier, and the hotel was easy to spot because of its colour. Downstairs, the restaurant and common areas felt cosy and welcoming. Our first impression of the room was that it was clean and smelled fresh, though it could have used more dusting. There was dust on the cups, kettle, windowsill and around the sink. Tea, coffee and milk were provided, but complimentary biscuits would have been nice. The bathroom and room were somewhat clean. The room felt a bit hot, and we could hear passing cars. The TV had a decent standard selection, though there weren’t many kids’ options. Breakfast was great, but I’d have liked to be asked what tea I wanted, since I don’t drink black PG tea. My scrambled egg also needed seasoning. Still, it was fantastic compared with some places we’ve stayed in Blackpool before.

The staff were probably the best I’ve experienced for customer service. They were friendly, efficient and always ready to help, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. The team should be proud. The rooms were comfortable and the beds especially so. Breakfast was excellent too. I’d definitely stay again when I’m on this side of town. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay and would use this hotel again on a visit to Blackpool. The dining room was spacious, and breakfast was lovely, with juice and cereal choices followed by a cooked breakfast, plus plenty of toast and tea or coffee. The bar area was nice and there was a games room as well. Our room was nice and simple, with a very comfortable bed. The staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough for us.

The breakfast was really nice, and the breakfast staff were helpful, pleasant and smiled. The location was good too, with plenty of parking, though it cost a ridiculous £12 per night. But this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. As worldwide travellers, we expect decent standards, and this place didn’t meet them. At check-in I had to find someone, who didn’t seem very professional. The stairs to our floor looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. Our room was freezing, with no heating, and the radiator looked rusty and as if it hadn’t worked in years. The bed was so close to the wall I had to walk sideways to get in, and the so-called bathroom door hit the bed. The curtains and blind didn’t fit the window. The carpet was threadbare and had holes, and there were holes in the walls. The bathroom was so cramped I couldn’t get into the shower properly between the sink and shower door, and the toilet was hard to reach. We only had one small towel each. The metal toilet roll holder was broken and sharp, and the only bedside table was old and broken. The duvet was old, stained and thin, and I had to sleep in my clothes because it was so cold. When I told the guy at the bar, he said he’d turn the heating up full so I couldn’t complain. Front doors kept banging every couple of minutes as smokers went out and talked loudly. It was unbearable until 3:15 in the morning, when we got up and went home. The place was dingy and tatty. I can’t understand how some people give it five stars. Maybe my standards are higher.
