Our couple of nights in Blackpool were meant to be a little getaway, but as soon as we saw the hotel, we wanted to turn around and leave. The place looked dark and dated, though check-in was easy and we found our rooms without trouble. Inside, the wallpaper was peeling, and there was mould all over the bathroom ceiling, shower curtain and bedroom curtains. My room also had stains up the walls, and the pictures were marked with who knows what. The beds had been made neatly, but the mattresses felt like bricks. There were crumbs in the sheets and hairs on the blankets, and you could hear every creak and noise from nearby rooms through the walls and floor. I was really disappointed by the cleanliness. It was a poor stay, and I wouldn’t come back or recommend it. Such a shame.

Good spot for the nearby tram stop and close to North Pier. But the ceiling leaked, the bed and cupboards were broken, and wallpaper was peeling off the walls. Even with the tempting price, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The place smelled of stale incense and mould, and the online photos gave a misleading impression. There was no air conditioning, the furniture was in poor shape, and the bed was rock hard. We didn’t get the promised view, and the room wouldn’t lock from the inside. Mould was on both the shower and bedroom curtains. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The owners were really nice, and the location near the seafront is ideal, but those things didn’t make up for a terrible stay. We were there for a long weekend in room number 10, one of the dirtiest, most neglected rooms we’ve ever had. The walls and floors were dated and dirty, there was clear evidence of damp, and the bed base had stains that made us feel ill. We even had to wipe the headboard with wipes bought at the nearby pound stretcher, because there were grim-looking liquid stains down the sides. The mattress springs came through and made for a very painful night’s sleep. Looking at other reviews, it seems these problems have been around for years. Wallpaper was coming away, mould was visible, and the sideboard drawers had who knows what in them, as if they’d never been wiped. The PAT test stickers on the plugs were from 2020, which concerned us, as did the missing fire escape route map. I believe that’s required in rooms or at least corridors. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The experience could cause a divorce if you’re married.

The owner seemed nice and welcoming, and the bed was comfortable. The beach and attractions were close, which was a plus. The room itself was very run down, though. It was damp, with holes in the walls and wallpaper coming off, and there were silverfish because of the damp. The toilet door and toilet roll holder were broken, with sharp edges on the holder that felt dangerous. The bed linen was dirty. We only spent time in the room to try to sleep.
