Glendowie Hotel

We stayed one night for a hen weekend. The staff were lovely and helpful, the place was clean, and the beds were super comfy. There was tea, coffee and bottled water in the room, along with a TV, wardrobe and storage. I’d highly recommend it for a short stay.

The street looks run down, but don’t let that put you off. We had a pleasant, comfortable, hassle-free stay, and the hotel was great. Our room was clean, the beds very comfortable, and there was tea and coffee, plus a TV with plenty of channels. The owner was helpful and pleasant. We could use the communal pool table, and there were books to borrow. Our keys also opened the main front door, so we could come and go without disturbing the owner when we got back late. We got lucky with a parking space right outside; otherwise there’s a pay-and-display car park at the end of the street. The main promenade is a five-minute walk. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. We were a group of four, so our family room had a shared toilet and shower just down the corridor. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and they’d thoughtfully left tea-making facilities and bottles of water. There was free fast Wi-Fi, and the seafront was only a short walk away. I wanted to stay somewhere like the Blackpool hotel my grandparents ran in the 1960s for our one-night trip to see the illuminations. We were taken straight to our room on arrival without needing to give our name. Street parking wasn’t available, but several car parks were within walking distance.

Charly was great with the kids, really friendly, and couldn’t have done more to make us comfortable. The hotel was clean and comfortable, with great facilities for the price. If you have a drink in the bar, she’s good company too. They don’t serve breakfast, but that’s reflected in the price, and there are plenty of cafes nearby. Cog's cafe bar is highly recommended. I’ll definitely stay again next time I visit.
