In room 20, I noticed dried blood on my pillow and then found multiple types of bed bugs on both beds. We had to wake our young daughter. I told the front desk straight away and was asked whether we wanted to move rooms. I offered photos and videos, but the man wasn’t interested. I later found out he was the owner. Being moved did help, but there was no acknowledgment or apology from staff, which was disappointing given how serious this was. The infestation caused distress, discomfort and a lot of disruption. We barely slept all weekend. Repacking, changing rooms, checking our belongings and taking steps to avoid bringing bugs home were all a hassle. I also had to replace a teddy and pajamas. The “new” room had someone’s false eyelashes on the bathroom floor. In my friend’s room, the bathroom window faced the main road and had plain glass, so the car park could be seen from the shower. That seemed like a safeguarding concern. The owner apparently hadn’t known about it and again gave no apology. My friend had to hold a towel against the window while her daughter showered. I found it strange there was no curtain or blind. A sweet wrapper lay in the middle of the communal area floor from Saturday through Monday, which made it look as if there’d been no housekeeping all weekend. I was eventually refunded for one night, but only after pushing for it. I’m still out of pocket from replacing the teddy and pajamas, and the Comfort Inn hasn’t replied to my email documenting everything.

On my second visit, I found the rooms refreshed, the bed really comfortable and the bathroom much nicer. The staff were just as friendly as last time. The location is close to everything, yet quiet when you’re back in your room. We had a few relaxed days and can’t wait to return.

We couldn’t get the Wi-Fi to connect or load properly, and the breakfast dining hall was locked whenever we checked between 8 and 9 am, with no staff around. Breakfast was meant to be included. The bedroom and bathroom also felt extremely cramped. Even in London I haven’t had so little space, which was disappointing given Blackpool isn’t a particularly tourist-heavy destination. A very poor stay.

Everything is within walking distance from this hotel, including the promenade, attractions, shops and restaurants. It’s right in the heart of Blackpool, and the room was clean and comfortable, with a very good bed. A convenient place to stay without any fuss.

The location is excellent, right next to Winter Gardens, but the hotel and rooms were appalling. I regret not checking the reviews before coming. This was the worst hotel we’ve stayed in. We were charged three separate times for the booking and I had to phone twice to get the money refunded. Our room had too many problems to list: it was filthy, with blood, snot and makeup on the walls; the towels were dirty, and sweet and crisp wrappers were under the beds. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. There were broken plug sockets and a broken fan, and the shower barely trickled, switching between freezing and boiling. Water kept dripping outside, the bathroom door lock was missing, and there was no hot breakfast, with no explanation. Other guests gathered and smoked outside the front. The list goes on. I’m in the process of complaining to head office.
