I’ve stayed here a couple of times. The room was okay, and the breakfast was very tasty. The cutlery and breakfast area were clean, and they wore gloves while preparing breakfast. The problem for me was that my friend asked if we could bring people back late at night and was told definitely not. When I came back in the early hours, one of the owners was up and opened the front door. I felt as if he was waiting to see whether anyone came back with us, then outside my room listening for noise. It was about 4am. My friends returned later than I did and said he was around when they got back too. Maybe he was planning to kick us out if anyone came back from the bars with us.

The double room wasn’t badly priced, and the place seems aimed at quieter guests rather than people looking for a party hotel. It was nice and quiet, with a comfy bed, a spotless room that smelled nice, and a temperature that felt just right despite the cold outside. It’s close to the station and town. Be aware they charge per guest, not per room. Update: I had the best sleep I’ve had in ages, very pleased. The breakfast was good too, and the breakfast room was bright and clean.

It was an easy walk from here to Funny Girls, where I was going for a birthday party, and the location turned out to be super convenient. The train station is a few minutes away, and it’s about a ten-minute stroll along the promenade to the town centre. I saved £75 by staying here for the night instead of at the premier inn. On my own, it was good value and convenient, though I wouldn’t pick it for a romantic getaway. I’d been worried because the price was so low, but I’m glad I booked it. The building is very old, so it isn’t as warm as a new build, and the water takes a few minutes to heat up. The heating was on, everything was spotlessly clean, and once the shower got hot, it was very hot. I nearly skipped breakfast, but I’m glad I didn’t. The dining room felt clean and homely and the food was really good. You can help yourself to cereal and orange juice, then the waiter brings toast, tea or coffee, and an English breakfast if you want one. It was incredibly good value after a lively night out. The owners and staff seem to take real pride in good service, and were polite and friendly.

I stayed on Saturday 8/10/22 and was surprised by how spacious the single room was, especially after other stays in similar locations. It had an en suite, and the staff were very polite. Everything felt clean and welcoming. Peter was great at the front of house, and breakfast was really good. I’ll contact them first when I’m back in Blackpool. Thankyou for a plea sent stay, Hotel Royale.

For the price, it was very good. I was only there one night, but found it clean and comfortable, with a good location and a nice breakfast. The owners seemed very pleasant, and I’d happily stay again.
