New Odyssey Hotel

The staff were helpful, and it was a cheap hotel for an overnight stay. The disabled access itself was fine, but the rooms were small. We brought a wheelchair user because the listing said there were disabled facilities, yet he couldn't get his wheelchair into the tiny toilet and had to hop in on one leg. The room was freezing overnight, and we came home with the flu. The shower head also wouldn't stay on the wall and kept falling while we showered.

The woman we met at reception was warm and kind, and her husband was lovely too. The owner seemed super friendly as well, which makes this difficult to write. There was also another man working there who was rather rude and unfriendly. I went to Blackpool with mates for the weekend, but I would never set foot in this dirty, stinking hotel again. The room was absolutely filthy, and the bedroom nearly made me cry. We made sure to stay out because of the shower and toilets. I can't remember the reception woman's name, but she seemed to share my concerns when I raised issues, though I understand her loyalties may have stopped her speaking freely. If you want a cheap, lower than low budget place and don't mind living in dirt, this is it. I wasn't the one who booked it, and I've never been so glad to leave. I have to be honest.

The staff were lovely and eager to help, and breakfast next door at the sister hotel, The Colwyn, was very nice, though my wife returned a slice of brown bread with mould on it. We were in room 26. The hotel is basic and cheaper than others in Blackpool, and the rooms were clean but need a lot of attention. The wardrobe had slats missing from its door, the radiator couldn't properly warm the room, and there were damp marks on the wall. We were there during storm Hannah. The toilet was loose, the sink was tiny, more like an eye wash basin, and there were no towels on arrival, though we got some when we asked. My sister's room 21 had a broken telly and the sound of a dripping toilet all night. We probably wouldn't stay again and will pay more for a higher standard.

The room smelled of egg, the floor was dirty and dusty, and there was a chunk of hair on the bathroom sink. It clearly hadn't been cleaned. The beds were stained and very uncomfortable, and neither the TV nor the shower worked. We asked reception for another TV remote but they didn't give us one. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Absolutely disgusting, wouldn't recommend it at all.
