Rockcliffe Hotel

The Rockcliffe is always a friendly place to stay, with guests chatting together and a lovely atmosphere. It's well placed for the town centre and North Pier, and our room had a fantastic sea view. As on our previous visits, the room was spotless and breakfast was beautifully presented and cooked just right. Mike and Jacqui are so welcoming and happy to help with anything. This was our sixth stay, and we weren't disappointed.

The location is fantastic, but we wouldn't choose to stay here again. The parking is awkward: there are only a few spaces at the front, you can be blocked in until the car ahead leaves, and returning after moving your car doesn't guarantee you'll find a space. Our room looked very dated, with a nearly threadbare carpet, and the toilet seat shifted when used. We didn't report it because the owner had seemed unapproachable after speaking to us about supposedly leaving the front door open. We'd also seen a review saying a couple had been asked to leave after complaining. After we posted a factual review on Booking.com, the owner messaged us threatening legal action. During our stay, the bed was made and the bin emptied after the first night, but an empty pizza box stayed on the floor. The shower dispenser got only a tiny amount of gel, and there was no shampoo or conditioner despite those being advertised. This is just our personal opinion, and we're not trying to put anyone else off, but we wouldn't stay again.

Breakfast was lovely, with a wide choice, and the hotel was spotless and tidy. The staff, Mike and Jacqui, were fantastic, friendly and welcoming. It's an easy 16 minute walk from Blackpool north train station, and not far from the north pier either. You can walk there or get the Tram for £6 a day. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to anybody.

We liked it so much that we've booked another stay for November. The hotel was clean and tidy, and breakfast was bang on, with all sorts to choose from. Mike and jacqui were lovely with us and amazing with the kids. Our youngest loved the place so much she just wanted to stay in the hotel. We came with my wife and two children, and I'd recommend a stay here. Thanks to the Rockcliffe hotel and staff for making our stay magical. We can't wait to come back for another break. See you soon.
