Woodhouse Hotel

Avoid booking here. I had a one-night stay booked with a 3 pm check-in, but at 3 pm on the day, just as I was about to arrive, the hotel texted to cancel. I went there to speak to someone, but the doors were locked and nobody would answer the phone. I still haven't received a refund, and the hotel hasn't acknowledged any wrongdoing or apologised. Your stay could be cancelled at the last minute and you may not get your money back.

The hotel is right on the front, handy for transport links and near the Pleasure Beach, but far enough away that you don't get the noise. When the sun's out, sitting with a cocktail by the bar and restaurant feels like being in another world. Both areas are nice, and breakfast was cooked perfectly with good-quality ingredients and a bit of flair. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It feels like luxury at an affordable price, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We ate at the restaurant and had the best meal of our whole holiday. The Woodhouse is a great find, and the location is perfect for all the attractions. Dan was brilliant with the kids and so helpful. Our room was up to a great standard, had everything we needed and the beds were extremely comfy. We'll definitely be back.

We found this place by accident, and they went above and beyond to fit us in at the last minute. The rooms are mega, really clean and modern, with fresh, cosy bedding, pillows and duvets. The staff who helped us were lovely. We didn't eat there, but it smelled incredible. We'll stay here again in future.
