Sky City Hotel

The place is disgusting. The rooms look awful, the beds seem filthy and haven't even been made, and seeing the toilet nearly made me sick. How can they expect anyone to stay in rooms like this? They need to hire more cleaners.

The damp was everywhere in the building, with black mould under layer after layer of wallpaper and paint. I could still see it, and after one night it made me ill. This is a serious hazard, so don't come here. They're lying to customers and charging too much for unsafe, unpleasant rooms. At check-in, staff were dismissive and unwelcoming, and seemed keen to get away from the room they'd just given us. It was easy to see why. There was out-of-date coffee, filthy mugs, tea bags that looked used, and not even soap to wash our hands. A half-smoked cigarette sat on the shelf under a precariously balanced mirror. Someone else's clothes were at the end of the bed, the sheets were dirty, and the room looked as if they'd only made the bed. The door lock was dodgy, with a visible gap people could look through. The booking site listed lots of features and promises, and almost none were true.

The room had no towels, no hot water, and no working heating. At least the TV worked. The hallway badly needed a makeover and a proper clean. We waited 15 minutes before we could park, and there was nobody at Reception, only a scrappy note with the Manager's phone number. We stayed one night, but this place isn't worth the money. Don't stay here.

I arrived on the second night of my mum's booking and found strangers hanging around the door, people coming and going, and lots of arguing. The room was advertised as a deluxe double with streaming services, toiletries, and a garden view. There were no toiletries, towels, or Wi-Fi. The mattress and sheets were stained, the shower was filthy, there was dust on top of the picture, and the windows were dirty. Even the tea bags were left loose, not individually wrapped. I felt neither comfortable nor safe. Neighbours shouted through the wall, someone knocked on my door and disturbed me, and there was more arguing outside in the morning. My mum had booked two nights. On the first day she tried repeatedly to check in by phone and by visiting, but the unhelpful man at the door refused her, saying they had “no bookings.” After she found somewhere else for that night, she messaged the hotel and they told her to come back and check in later, after they'd turned her away in the rain. I've never stayed anywhere so atrocious. It's completely outdated and poorly run. I don't know if it needs investigating or demolishing.
