We arrived from Australia at 8pm to check into the Senora Park Hotel for two nights, with my husband and our five-year-old and three-year-old. Nobody answered the “ring” doorbell, even after we kept pressing it and knocking for ten minutes. We’d paid in full and our check-in had been approved. Since we couldn’t make phone calls from Australia, I got a relative to call. They were told the owner had sold the hotel and closed it. The hotel number posted outside was disconnected, and people inside were playing pool but wouldn’t acknowledge or help us. We were left scrambling to find another hotel for the next two nights. I doubt we’ll get our money back, which is extremely unfair. We’re very upset by the lack of communication and help, and it still hasn’t been resolved. I believe they’re out of business but still taking money and bookings. Don’t book here.

The only thing going for this hotel was its central location, within easy walking distance of the tower and attractions. We were there in mid-August, peak season, and the place was dead. It was cheap, but none of the advertised features were available. They should’ve paid us to stay. I’m glad others had a good time, but I won’t be back. We checked in with a staff member and never saw or heard from anyone working there again over our three-night stay. The bar and family lounge were closed, there was no breakfast option, and the manager’s phone number on a sign went unanswered. It felt like we were checked in and then dumped. Our room was cramped and dirty, with hair in the shower, mould everywhere and stains on the towels. We’d booked an ensuite because we have two young girls, aged eight and thirteen, but the shower was faulty. When I reported it, the gentleman said, “Yeah I know, I need to fix that,” and didn’t seem to care. There were towels laid out nicely on the bed, but they were damp. I asked for replacements and got more damp ones. The toiletries were a nice touch, at least. There was no Wi-Fi signal anywhere in the hotel, and friends in another room had the same problem, so it wasn’t just our room. Two double sockets didn’t work. That left one single socket free, while the other had the Wi-Fi extender plugged into it. It was about as useful as an inflatable dartboard.

Room 15 was clean, as were the bedding and towels. It was fine for me on my own, though two people would’ve struggled for space. The street outside gets very noisy at night, through no fault of the hotel. It worked well for a last-minute getaway and I’d stay again xx

We had a large dance team group, booking most of this hotel and a couple of rooms at their other hotel, ‘Niros’, on the same road for our championship weekend. The owner made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. He suggested nice places to eat and put breakfast on both mornings. The staff member on overnight was helpful too. Despite the size of our group, all the rooms were ready when we arrived. They were great. I’d recommend it and stay again.

No one answered the doorbell when we arrived for our one-night booking. The hotel didn’t answer the phone or reply when I tried contacting them through booking.com, so we had to book somewhere else. Ridiculous. AVOID!
