South Beach Apartments

Karl was a very friendly host and happy to help with any problems. Since we were the only guests at the time, he offered us an upgrade to another apartment, and we were able to check in before the stated time. The location is handy too, less than a five-minute walk to Sandcastles water park, the Pleasure Beach and South Pier. We were a family of three. The apartment was very clean, stocked with fresh towels when we arrived, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It could easily fit two adults and two children comfortably. Great for families.

The place itself was lovely and clean, felt secure, and has an amazing location right beside the Pleasure Beach. But the parking situation really affected my holiday. The booking said parking was free, which wasn’t true. The front has permit parking, and perhaps the owner could get a permit for guests bringing cars, if that’s possible. The free parking was a long way away, which wasn’t convenient with two small children. It was very busy during the hottest days of the year, and I struggled to find a space. I paid £14 one day and £8 on each of the next two. I stayed three nights last week. In the Ruby flat, the sofa bed mattress was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever slept on. It’s in the living room facing the street, and none of the rooms have blackout blinds, so it was like daytime all night. With blinds, a better sofa bed mattress and a parking permit, this could’ve been a great place to stay.

We stayed here on a cycling trip in October. After a long day on the bike, it was exactly what you’d want: clean, warm and with a great host. It’s tucked away off the main road, so it was quiet too. I’m passing through again this year and already planning another stay.

We stayed last year with our daughter, and plan to come back soon for her birthday. The apartments are a higher standard than much of the accommodation in Blackpool, with good-sized rooms and lovely decor. Service was great from arrival to departure, and the location works well for the Pleasure Beach and other local attractions.
