The hotel is right by the Pleasure Beach, and Burlington Road West tram stop is about a two-minute walk away, making it handy for the piers and tower. The bar was a pleasant place to sit with a drink. We ordered a takeaway and ate there because a sign said food couldn’t be taken up to the room. We’d stayed the year before under the previous owners and loved it, but this visit was disappointing. At check-in we were given the keys and room number and sent on our way, with no details about breakfast or checkout. The woman at reception was nice, but didn’t seem to know what new guests needed to be told. Parking is very limited. We drove to the tower because one of our party had limited mobility, then lost our space when we returned. We paid £10 to park overnight across the road at the Delton Hotel. Breakfast was okay, but there was less choice than under the previous owners. It included sausages, bacon, fried eggs, fried bread, beans, tomatoes and chunky chips, plus a couple of cereals and bread for toast with jam, butter and chocolate spread. The area was kept very clean by the young woman on duty, who was constantly tidying. One yogurt we took from the fridge was a few days out of date, though the others were in date, so it seemed to be a one-off. Breakfast only ran from 8-9am, which felt early. Our table had only two cups for four people. The orange and apple juice were lovely. We were in room 32. It was clean enough, but the shower kept switching from scalding hot to ice cold, and the bathroom floor seemed uneven. The bathroom blind had missing slats, and its window wasn’t frosted, so people could see inside. There were only two mugs in a room for four. The beds were comfortable and clean enough, but the room was uncomfortably hot and there was no way to turn off the radiators. The window blinds were broken and couldn’t be opened. There is a lift, but the rooms may not suit disabled guests: on the third floor, you still have to go up and down a few steps to reach them. We probably wouldn’t stay again. The visit was fine, but under new ownership the hotel seemed run down and could use some TLC.

We booked the triple room with a bath for £143 a night, but it wasn’t worth a pound. We arrived at 3 last Saturday for a one-night stay and left at 5 because there was no hot water. I asked four times and was told the boiler had been turned on, but after two hours there was still no hot water. A joke. The blinds were all different sizes, the drawers and carpets were dirty, and the walls and corridor carpets were marked. Since leaving, I’ve contacted booking. Com. They emailed the property, but haven’t heard back. I’ve called the property every day, and the staff have been rude. I just want my money back, which isn’t asking too much. booking. com should inspect the hotel themselves. It’s listed as a 3 star property, but with the new owner it’s not even a one-star place now. Think twice before going. Don’t believe the reviews or waste your money. We found a beautiful place around the corner for £89 a night. Thanks.

The rooms suit our family of four really well, and they’re nicer than others we’ve stayed in around the south area. Book early, as they fill up fast. The price is competitive and includes breakfast. There aren’t many spaces outside, though there’s plenty of parking nearby if needed. This visit the lift was out of order, but I understand repairs can take time. Breakfast was lovely and the service very friendly. The hotel has recently changed hands, but our booking was fine. We called the day before to check everything was in order. Thanks, and good luck to the new owners!

We love staying here and will be back in the summer. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Blackpool, especially room 18 if you’d like a balcony. This was our first visit since the new owners took over. Our son was ill and we thought we might not make it, but we were outside the free cancellation period. The owner kindly offered to rearrange the booking. Thankfully, we were able to go as planned and were given a warm welcome by the lovely woman who checked us in. Room 18 is a triple on the first floor, with a balcony and sea view. It was warm and spacious, with comfy beds, a nice bath and a shower. We didn’t use the balcony because the weather was freezing, but it was nice to be able to open the doors. The hotel is just past the Pleasure Beach, close to the front but quiet enough to relax. The bar is welcoming too. My husband and son made good use of the pool table while I sat by the warm radiator. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I had to leave in the early hours for personal reasons, so didn’t get to say goodbye. Thanks so much for your hospitality. Everyone was welcoming, friendly and helpful, and this was hands down one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in while in Blackpool. Absolutely spotless and lovely.
