The Berkeley Apartments

I’ve got another day and night here, but I wanted to write this now because I’m so happy with our stay. Room 303 is a wonderful apartment, easily the best place I’ve stayed in Blackpool after many visits. It’s thoughtfully set up and feels like home. The kitchen has all the little things that make cooking easy, and the place looks nice with a lovely sea view. The beds are comfortable, but the pillows are too flat and hard for me. I’ll bring my own next time, because I won’t stay anywhere else in BP now. Even the washing powder smells delicious, the whole room smelled gorgeous when I walked in. My children have loved it too. The only other thing I’d change is the blinds. I don’t like them because they don’t really close and aren’t blackout. I’d consider replacing them and the pillows if it were my place. Also, guests have left the lift door open a few times, and when I notice, I usually check the lift and fix it.

The tram stops are just across the road, which is handy. These apartments are lovely, clean, cosy and warm, with a nicely arranged kitchen and sitting room. I’d highly recommend them.

My friends and I stayed at the apartment on 5 July and had a great time. It felt like home, right down to the large wooden chopping boards for our charcuterie boards. The place was clean and welcoming, and the beds were very comfortable. The host left us some welcome ice creams and made a quick courtesy call to check everything was okay, which we appreciated. We’ll look at staying again, and I’d recommend it to a small group who’d prefer to be a little outside the centre. A couple of small suggestions: it would be nice to have firmer pillows to choose from. The feather down ones were too soft for a couple of us, and we couldn’t find extras beyond those in our rooms. We also woke quite early because so much daylight came through the bedroom blinds. Blackout curtains or an extra blind in the bedrooms during summer would be a nice addition. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and felt just like home. They’d provided everything we needed, from soap and toilet roll to tissues, so we didn’t have to think about bringing those things. It’s only a couple of minutes’ walk to the tram and not too far from the North Pier. The lifts are very small, which was the only downside. Apart from that, it was a really great place to stay, and I’d absolutely recommend it for a week or weekend away. I could make a whole list of reasons it’s the best place to stay in Blackpool.
