The Crosby Hotel

The hosts were so welcoming and helpful, they treated me and my two dogs like family. I was travelling alone and had booked a single room, but they gave us a complimentary double instead. The room was compact but cosy and warm, with everything we needed in the en-suite. The shower pressure and temperature were amazing. The bed was really comfy, and the bedding was spotless. Honestly, it was the best sleep I’ve had in years. It’s dog-friendly and parking is included, so I can’t fault it. Some might find the decor a little outdated, and a few hooks for coats would’ve been useful, but it was perfect for us. Lovely, warm, friendly hotel, and I’ll definitely return. I’d recommend it, but ring them directly since the prices on Booking.com are incorrect.

AVOID. There were exposed live wires in the bathroom, no towels or toilet roll, and the owner was walking around smoking while showing the rooms. It hasn’t been decorated in years and was the worst hotel I’ve ever seen for cleanliness. Should be shut down by training standards.

Absolutely disgusting, please don’t book here. My daughter arrived on 26/8/25 but couldn’t check in because nobody was at reception. She tried calling and messaging, but got no answer. Eventually someone replied, she checked in and went to her room. It was like student accommodation, and she’s stayed in student places that were better. Her bed had been made and the bedding looked clean, but while she was there a girl came in and changed it, putting children’s bedding on instead. When my daughter asked why, the girl couldn’t answer and didn’t speak a word of English. The reception staff spoke very little English too. The shower was freezing, with no hot water, and there was no breakfast option. The walls were paper thin, so she could hear everything from neighbouring rooms. She didn’t even bother checking out properly. She left her key at reception and walked out, but there was nobody there to complain to, so she’s staying elsewhere. It’s shocking how they run this so called hotel, and no wonder it’s so bloody cheap.

The friendly staff were the one bright spot. We had a last-minute Blackpool break a couple of weeks ago and booked at Crosby hotel because there weren't many options. The deposit was taken straight away even though the booking said there was no booking fee, and repeated calls went unanswered, though the Google number might have been wrong. Parking seemed to be first come, first served, with space for no more than five cars, so arriving late when the hotel is full may mean hunting for street parking. The free Wi-Fi wouldn't connect on my phone. The place felt like stepping into an old house from the 80s and needs a lot of redecorating. The mattress looked at least 20 years old and was disgusting. The shower didn't work, there was no hot water, the room and toilet were cramped, and we couldn't open the windows. Breakfast was bland and unappetising. It was a bad stay for me, and I won't return or recommend it. A lot needs changing.
