You can explore Blackpool's main attractions from here without needing the car. The Metropole hotel is right on the seafront, and the location is excellent. It also has plenty of character and that old-fashioned seaside charm.

I was nervous after reading the reviews, since I'd booked this hotel for a last-minute family break. We were pleasantly surprised: the bedding was fresh, the rooms were clean, and there was hand and body wash in the bathroom. The building and decor are dated, but that's to be expected for its age. The communal areas were pleasant and well kept, and the reception staff were lovely. They brought us extra milk without any fuss. We checked in after 6:30pm and parked right at the front straight away. For the price, don't expect five-star luxury, but I've stayed in much worse places. We had a lovely stay, so don't believe every negative review.

I used to love this hotel, but I haven't been able to stay for a few years because it's been filled with illegal immigrants, like other hotels across the country.
