The area was, let’s say, interesting, and we made sure to be back in our room before dark. Getting around was easy, with the tower a five minute bus ride away and st chads road tram stop a ten minute walk away. The room was one of the best Travelodge rooms I’ve seen, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and good value, and the staff were all friendly. My only issues were a stain on the bed, random marks on the wall, a rather weak shower and just one squirt of soap.

We booked at the last minute because we wanted a change of scenery for one night, and had a great time. Check-in was quick and easy, and the room was spotless. The standard checkout at 12pm is great, and you can pay extra to leave at 2pm. On-site parking costs extra, but blue badge holders should tell reception, as parking is free for 24hour after putting your registration on the tablet they provide. The hotel is a little way back from the front, so driving and parking there may suit you if you’re not good on your feet. There’s a small bar and restaurant, but we didn’t try them because we had the dog, who wasn’t allowed in and couldn’t be left alone in the room, which we wouldn’t do anyway. The dog cost 20.00 for the night. I’m not sure if that’s per day or for the whole stay if you’re there longer than one night. We’ll definitely be back.

The food was great, and the family room was spacious with a clean bathroom. It’s about ten minutes from the beach, away from the promenade’s hustle and bustle. This was much better than our previous bad experiences with travelodge. A clean, budget friendly place, and I’d recommend it for the price. 👍

Mixed feelings, to be honest. The food and rooms were below average, though most of the staff were really nice and friendly. I left personal things in the room and had trouble getting them back because one staff member in particular said they weren’t in lost property and didn’t help. Another staff member managed to find them.

The price changes a lot depending on the day. The same room listed online can be about £27.00 a night or as much as £99.00, depending on school holidays, local festivals and so on. Meals cost extra, though I didn’t use the small restaurant beside reception. I’d recommend the hotel for a short family break, a business trip or a visit to Blackpool and its nightlife. It’s at a junction, opposite Blackpool Football Ground, but the soundproofing meant neither bothered me. Wheelchair access is easy from the main street or the large car park. That’s a municipal car park with its own charges, though the hotel gives guests a discount code at check-in, around £7.00 a day. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and my clean, comfortable room was ready at the advertised check-in time. It was an airy double with an en-suite bathroom, two comfortable chairs, a small desk or dressing table, a large lit mirror, a good-sized bed, fresh sheets, quilt cover and towels. There was no wardrobe, just a shelf and hanging rail with about 6 wooden hangers. The bathroom was well cleaned and had a decent-sized bath with handrail, an over-bath shower, sink and toilet. There was also the usual small automatic kettle, two clean cups and spoons, and a small selection of coffee sachets and tea bags. The promenade is roughly ten minutes away on foot, and Blackpool Tower about twenty.
