On the positive side, borrowing a hairdryer was easy, and staff moved us promptly to another room when we reported the first one. The new room was a little larger and in better condition. But the owner didn’t seem especially welcoming and wouldn’t allow a late checkout or any flexibility with breakfast. Since we’d originally booked a different hotel and were moved here because of an issue at that property, we had to walk back there each morning for breakfast and couldn’t eat here. The first room was extremely dirty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. The linen was stained, and the platforms under the mattresses had marks and spills. It was so small there was barely room for two suitcases. The entire hotel also smelled strongly of damp, which made the stay unpleasant. Noise was another problem: the walls were extremely thin, so we heard everything from nearby rooms and the corridors. On several nights, other guests knocked loudly on our door and disturbed our sleep. Thankfully, we were only there for two nights. With the cleanliness, smell, noise and general atmosphere, I wouldn’t recommend this place for families, children or even a short break. I’d look for somewhere else.

The landlord went out of his way to make a nice breakfast for my fussy son, and even the cleaner helped my daughter with some hair clips she’d forgotten to bring. We were given a great price and a comfy room, and the owners and staff were extremely friendly from the start. It was my first time staying here with my two children, and I’d recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a short break in Blackpool.

The room was comfortable and everything in it worked, including a shower that was easy to use. We had perfect hosts, a great breakfast and a really good location for enjoying all that Blackpool has to offer.

We had a perfect holiday here and will never stay anywhere else in Blackpool. After a bad experience at a hotel further down, Leo fitted us in at the last minute and was a brilliant host. He and his friends even brought us tea and cake, then tea and biscuits while we sat outside before leaving. The rooms are basic, nothing special, but clean, tidy and very comfortable. The staff make the place. They’re friendly, brilliant with children and happy to help with anything. Breakfast was perfect, with plenty of choice.

I’ve been staying here for more than 20 years and still love it. Leo makes everyone feel welcome, and the hotel is friendly and comfortable. The beds are so comfy I often sleep through breakfast, which is lovely. It’s next to Hounds Hill Shopping Centre, two minutes on foot from the Promenade and public transport. The town centre is easy to reach, but the hotel is far enough out that it doesn’t get too noisy.
