Valdene Hotel

We were offered a secure parking spot at no charge, which was a lovely bonus. The owner was welcoming and couldn’t have done more for us, and the room was just right for the price. We stayed one night and would happily recommend this little hotel and return in the future 😀

Service was friendly, professional and genuine, and the place was very clean with plenty of hot water. The beds were comfortable and I slept well. Parking is available if you ask. Room 6 could do with an update, though I imagine that work may already be in progress. I had a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Clean rooms, friendly staff and good service, with a convenient location. The room was on the small side, and the area felt a little sketchy. There was no soap or shower wash provided. Strange noises at night kept me from sleeping well. I think some may have been other guests showering or something. It was fine, about what you’d expect.

The owners were very kind and pleasant, but the place could use a few basic comforts, especially warmth. Our room was freezing; the radiator only got lukewarm. There wasn’t a comfortable chair to sit in, and the bar had no drinks, though we could bring our own and they’d provide glasses. It was cold in there too. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The toilet made a foghorn-like sound when flushed, and at 7am the taps stopped giving us water, hot or otherwise. We had to wait until demand dropped to get warm water. This felt like a guest house, not a hotel.
