The White House has had a complete renovation, and it’s modern, very clean, and equipped with everything you need for a weekend with family or friends. We stayed on the ‘Hollywood’ side of the building and couldn’t fault it. It isn’t a B&B, but there’s a very modern kitchen, and local places to eat are less than a minute’s walk away since it’s so central. I’d absolutely stay here again.

We spent two nights here a couple of months ago, and I’m glad we were out for most of the days and nights. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re tall: my fiancé is over 6 foot and found the bathroom far too small. If you’re anxious or easily startled, you might want to avoid it too, since you can hear everything in the next room and even rooms down the hall. Pretty much the whole experience at this ‘hotel’ was negative.

Absolutely terrible. The room and hotel looked nothing like the pictures. We could feel the mattress springs, the shower curtain pole didn’t fit properly and fell down, and to use the toilet sink you had to lean over the toilet. One of our bath towels had a stain, and both the divan at the side of the bed and the carpet in the room were stained. The stair carpets were threadbare, and there was a smell of cigarette smoke and damp as soon as we entered. The rooms weren’t clean, but the manager wasn’t interested when we went to speak about it. The website photos aren’t what the hotel or rooms are like. We booked because of those pictures, and I’ve now posted real ones.

Check-in went fine and the room was clean enough, but I wasn’t happy with the stay. My booking clearly said breakfast was included, yet when we came down at 8:10 there was no sign of anything being cooked, so we ended up having breakfast at McDonald’s. The beds were so uncomfortable that we hardly slept. I doubt we’d stay there again.

The location is great, the staff are friendly enough, and the reception looks about right for a 2 star hotel. The rooms, though, were very dirty and badly needed a proper clean. There was hair left by previous guests in the shower and toilet, the carpet was dirty, and there was lots of dust.
