The Old Cross Inn

A tasty restaurant downstairs, with good coffee and a bar. The hotel is family-run, and the rooms are comfortable, spacious and have what you need for a stay. I'd recommend it if you're looking for somewhere in Blairgowrie.

The food was excellent and the menu was nice. We had booked to eat in the bar area with our dogs. The staff were great, though there are only a couple of tables in the bar for people eating with dogs.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and it was handy having a pub and restaurant downstairs. I really liked the spacious main bedroom, its cosy feel and decor, plus the complimentary tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable. The huge Oreo chocolate cake special was divine, and the chicken main was tasty, though the portion was a bit small. The bathroom was okay, but it looked like it had been renovated cheaply. The electric shower had low pressure, as usual, and there was no shower door. There wasn't much room for toiletries. Despite the space in the bedroom, there was no table, and the bed linen was a little worn and marked. Still, a very good stay for an inn, with a good restaurant and pub below.

The Scottish breakfast was worth every penny, with Stornaway black pudding and proper butcher's sausages. The food was excellent quality, freshly cooked and served hot. My daughter really enjoyed her pancakes with fresh strawberries and Nutella too. The restaurant was quiet when we visited, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
