Richmond Park Hotel

Kelsey, the event coordinator, made organizing my 50th birthday party very easy, and nothing seemed like too much trouble for her. The function suite was a great venue, so I’d happily host another event there. Staff at check-in, the bar and housekeeping all made a very positive impression. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable, though the one we had felt a little tired, and some fixtures could use attention, including the bathroom door handle.

The room was warm and comfortable, though it felt a bit dated and well used. Everyone on staff was friendly, including the manageress. It’s a nice hotel. I’ve stayed in better, but there are definitely worse places around, and I’d stay again if I’m back in the area.

The place was clean and tidy, but I barely slept during my two nights there. The single beds were terribly uncomfortable, and the cheap foam pillows made it worse. I ended up using the little cushions from the chair, but when I asked for other pillows, I was told those were the only ones they use. Maybe bring your own. The pillows seem to go with the very firm, uncomfortable mattresses.

The room looked nicely styled and was mostly clean. In the bathroom, some seals were grimy, and the shower head was filthy, so I skipped using it. Staff were friendly and helpful when I could find someone, though having to go down to the bar to check in felt like a nuisance. It seemed as if the bar might take priority over the hotel 🤷‍♂️. The room was quite loud, like sleeping inside a boiler cupboard. For the price, I can’t complain too much. It looks nice, but there are some drawbacks to consider.
