We ended up at Travelodge at 11.15pm, wet, cold and hungry, though at least we had a warm bed. The kitchen was shut, so there was no food. We had driven from London in cold rain, and I’m disabled; my wife is 75. We reached the B&B at 7.45pm, but the signs were poor and there was nobody there. The place was completely dark and empty. My wife got out in the rain to knock on the door and window, with no response. We had called the contact number on the way and got the answerphone, then called again when we arrived and left a message asking someone to let us in. After half an hour with no reply, it was nearly 9pm and we were worried, out in the dark in the middle of nowhere. By 9.30 we were thinking this might be some kind of scam. We called our daughter, who was worried too and started ringing around for somewhere for us to stay. It was Easter, so most places were full, and we finally got a room at Travelodge at 10.15. Despite all our calls and messages to The Nook, nobody ever got back to explain or apologise. Avoid this place if you don't want your weekend ruined. Tony And Sadie

The Nook was so peaceful, with lovely views, and we had such a great time that we've booked another stay for August this year. Our room was spotless and the breakfast was amazing. Zoe and her parents made us feel so welcome, almost like part of the family. We'd happily recommend it to everyone. Thanks again, Zoe. Katie and Andrew xx

The bed was awful, and we were glad we only stayed two nights. The place is very isolated, and at night that can feel like quite a mental experience, so you shouldn't be afraid of the dark. It was practically furnished, and they had made the beds and left towels. Coffee, milk and water were already in the fridge, which was nice. But for a place offered to two people, there should really be enough plates and cutlery for two.

Getting in on our own was easy, and the place was really clean. Great little spot for a couple. Thanks for being so welcoming, Zoe :)
