Candle Villa Bed & Breakfast

Breakfast at Candle Villa was a treat, with tasty bacon, locally sourced sausages, a choice of poached or fried egg, and either hash brown or fried bread. There was also fresh fruit, toast, preserves, and cereals for anyone wanting something lighter. We left feeling relaxed and very well looked after, thanks to the hosts’ attention to detail and genuine wish for us to enjoy our visit. Mr & Mrs Skinner take pride in welcoming guests into their home and do all they can to make a stay special. They greeted us warmly, as did their Parsons Terrier, who was soooo pleased to see us. Our room was warm and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge, wine glasses, and a kettle. There was also a well-stocked bookcase with novels, including one by a certain well-known Brighton author. Candle Villa is easy to find, with a convenient parking space behind the property. We walked to dinner during our two-night stay: So India took about twenty to twenty-five minutes to reach, and Fino, the local Italian, was another ten minutes on. Both were nice restaurants. Nearby on foot there’s also a little taxi firm, four pubs, a few estate agents, another Indian restaurant, a convenience store, a pharmacy, and a fish and chip takeaway and restaurant. There are plenty of beaches for a bracing winter walk by the sea. Bognor Regis is the nearest town, about a ten-minute drive away. It felt tired and drab, with little investment, though parking was easy. We did play mini-golf on the seafront. The course was free of sand and leaves, with neatly mown lawns, and was well kept. Sadly, that was the highlight of our time in town. Candle Villa is also convenient for Goodwood, whether you’re going for horse racing or horsepower, including the festival of speed. We’d be very happy to stay at Candle Villa bed & breakfast again.
