The Banjo Bed and Breakfast

The room was reasonably clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff I met were friendly. The bathrooms and hallways were more or less okay too, though I did spot a small spider or moth now and then. They offered a refund for the night I couldn’t stay in my room, and I think they upgraded me as well. That first night was a mess. I arrived late, but the key code I got by phone didn’t work properly. Other guests called out through their open windows that I needed to go to a different hotel. Nobody was there when I got there, so after another guest let me inside, I had to sleep on the corridor floor. There wasn’t a table or chair anywhere, so I ate lunch sitting on the kitchen counter. The internet was awful and went out completely for at least four days. It still hadn’t been fixed when I left. The area was only so-so. Getting into the city centre was fairly quick when the buses were running, but they were on strike for almost a week. There was rubbish on the surrounding streets, and trains passed often enough to hear clearly with the window open. A night or two might be fine, but I wouldn’t stay here for longer.

The owners and staff were really friendly, and the room was clean and cosy. There’s a good kitchen where you can cook your own meals, with bread, tea, and coffee available too. I’d pick this place over a Travelodge or somewhere similar, and we’ll definitely use it again next time we need somewhere to stay in Liverpool. 😁😁👍

We were four friends on a non-business trip, and the five-bed room suited our outing to Pokémon Go Fest in Chester, about a half-hour drive away. The hostess was great, answered our questions, and accommodated a late check-in after we let her know in advance. There was an LG flat-screen TV and a radiator in the room, with access to two shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen. A great place to rest.

Stevie Leigh was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful, and the bed was incredibly comfy. The place was very clean. Only drawback was the doors banging as they shut. It’s a good spot for a night when you just need to get your head down.
