Y-NOT Guest House

I don’t usually write reviews, but this place made me make an exception. Margaret was very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was excellent. Our lovely, clean room had everything we could need, with more supplies than I’ve ever seen in a room. There’s secure off road parking. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area. The proprietor makes a point of asking about breakfast preferences and does her best to meet them. That personal care gives me the feeling of being looked after, rather than just having a commercial transaction. I’ve stayed here several times and just booked again for my next time in Boston. After years of travelling the length of the country, from the Shetlands to the Isle of Wight, I’ve never found better value or a more helpful place where guest welfare comes first. Y-Not Guest House is a rare find, and I fully recommend it to travellers looking for excellent value, very clean surroundings and a warm welcome. The communal kitchen is spotless, the two rooms I’ve stayed in were clean and freshly decorated, and the rooms always have extras you don’t get everywhere, like toiletries, tissues and bottled water.

Margaret really cares about her guests’ welfare and couldn’t be more helpful. The place is spotlessly clean, and you can use the kitchen in the evening to make your own meals, which is welcome when you get tired of eating out while travelling. I was initially reluctant to leave my usual commercial Travelodge, but I didn’t regret booking this little gem for a minute. Breakfast was lovely and I thought it was brilliant value for money. I’d certainly stay again if I’m in the area. Thank you.

I work in the Boston area regularly and always stay at Y Not guest house. The owner is friendly and welcoming, the rooms are always clean and tidy, and there’s plenty of parking and good WIFI. Breakfast is great, too.
