The Bull Inn

A cosy pub with a lovely open fire and a kind welcome when I came in. But at 19:30 on a Saturday night it was empty, with more staff than customers. When I asked to order food at 19:50, I was told the kitchen had closed at 19:45. Very disappointing, so I left. I wasn’t planning to stay overnight, so I can’t say what the rooms are like.

I’ve spent the last two weeks here while working nearby. The rooms are small but have everything you need, and it’s nice and quiet except for the church bells every hour. The pub is pleasant, the food is amazing, and the chips are proper home-cooked ones. Service was excellent, the guys couldn’t do enough for me. A good option if you’re around Bourne. I’ll be back.

A really friendly pub with lovely rooms. Simon and James have only owned it for a few months but are doing a sterling job of keeping guests and locals happy. John the chef will feed you well at the weekend, and the bar and waiting staff go out of their way to help. The locals are friendly and happy to chat and have a giggle, and their events keep the community hub going. There’s ample parking too. Well worth a visit, and we’ll be back.

The food really made our short stay. It was proper pub cooking, freshly prepared with local ingredients, and the new chef is great. Breakfast was excellent too, and the service was outstanding, so it felt like very good value. The pub has recently been taken over by a lovely family. Our room was spotless, with a comfortable new mattress and a lovely clean bathroom. Five stars well deserved, we'd happily recommend it.
