The room itself was okay, but the stay was miserable. The shared kitchen smelled awful, possibly because one of its two large fridge freezers wasn't plugged in. We had booked at the last minute for the Bournemouth airshow and were given a so-called double bed to share. I doubt two adults would have slept comfortably in it, let alone me and my 12-year-old daughter. I hadn't realised the building was also student accommodation, though I can't say whether that contributed to the trouble. People shouted and screamed outside our room at all hours, especially around the pool table by reception. We barely slept all weekend, and the language was horrible. There were signs asking everyone to keep quiet from 10pm to 7am, but nobody seemed to do anything. My daughter was frightened. I wouldn't come back, and I don't think it's suitable for children.

There isn't any parking, and the apartment may have to be shared with as many as 10 other people in a communal lounge that student life has taken over. If you've booked without realising this is budget-built student accommodation, cancel straight away. This is not a hotel.

We couldn't sleep because of the noise in the corridor, and light came in under the door because it wouldn't close properly. The room was filthy and hadn't been cleaned. The bed was small and creaked, and the bathroom was damp, especially around the shower head, which we had to clean ourselves. We were meant to get the room at 15:00, but waited until 16:00 before finding this mess. The staff were awful with customers and didn't even apologise. Just kidding about the staff being kind and friendly, of course. Avoid this “hotel.”

They used my card to authorise a payment without my permission, even after refunding me for an unsatisfactory stay. The room was dirty, and noise from nearby rooms kept me awake all night. They also don't tell you that this is student accommodation. It doesn't deserve even one star. Don't stay here.

We ended up sleeping in the car because all three rooms they showed us were infested with those slithery insects. First it was D BLOCK, then C BLOCK, and finally A BLOCK. We were left without a place to stay for one night, and they couldn't refund our 327 pound until 8am. I've got a new name for this place: shitylivein.
