Ibis Styles Bournemouth

I only managed a very short visit, but the room was really nice and the staff were amazing. I’d booked the wrong date, and because someone else had exactly the same name, I was checked in under their booking for the following week. Once the mix-up was found, I had to leave because the hotel was full and they couldn’t move my booking. Still, they gave me a full refund even though my Booking.com reservation had no refund policy. I’ll come back to Bournemouth and try again, with the right date this time.

The location was spot on, about a five-minute walk to the beach, and parking was easy. We felt safe leaving the car. Our family room was spacious, and the kitchen had a microwave, fridge, kettle, and complimentary tea and coffee, which impressed me. Breakfast was included with a good selection, and the warm pastries were a favourite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay.

We booked at the last minute for a good price after reading some awful reviews, so I wasn’t expecting much. The check-in was clear, the decor was lovely, and the room was clean, a good size, and had plenty of hangers and a well-positioned TV. The beds were comfortable too. We stayed on Friday night, which was Halloween, and only heard one person during the night. It’s close to the International and Winsor Hall, so we walked back. I’d absolutely stay again if I’m in Bournemouth.

The bed was comfortable, and the rest of the bedding was clean, but the room itself wasn’t. One pillowcase had a dirty mark that looked like makeup, the carpet was stained, and there were nail clippings. The shower had no pressure. The air conditioning, if that’s what it was, didn’t work either. I woke up to 27 degrees after setting it to 16 twice during the night, so I switched it off and opened the windows. We were visiting for a graduation.
