New Westcliff Hotel

I chose this place because it advertised free parking, but parking actually cost £10. Later I got a ticket despite paying, and now I'm disputing a £160 charge with the parking company. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. The room was small and hot with little airflow. I knew it would be dated because it was cheap, and I don't mind that, but I do expect it to be clean. The first room had hair all over the bathroom shelf, as if someone had shaved their beard. They were nice when I asked to move and upgraded me to a double, but there was hair in the shower, tea stains over the radiator, and damp on the ceiling, which was the most concerning part. I wasn't expecting the Ritz for what I paid, but I wanted to make others aware that it wasn't very clean.

The sauna, jacuzzi and pool were an extra treat, and all included in the stay price. The room was very clean, the facilities all worked well, and when I needed more tea, coffee and sugar, they brought it. Staff were welcoming, friendly and polite, including housekeeping, and made the stay special. Fantastic service. I’ll definitely return this year. A big thank you to everyone.

There were lots of places to relax around the hotel, and the atmosphere was great. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the cinema, jacuzzi and swimming pool, and used the lounge to watch a couple of programs. We also stopped by the bar once and really enjoyed a great performance by Tyler James, who has a superb voice. The hotel is nicely located, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Our room was small but comfortable, with an en-suite and a tray with tea, coffee and sugar, as well as a kettle, ironing board and iron, hair dryer, plenty of towels and toiletries. Breakfast was delicious each day, and the service was superb. Would fully recommend this hotel. 5*

The bed was the only good part of a poor stay. We paid extra for a bath, but there wasn't one in our first room. The lady quickly moved us, though the second room wasn't much better, just small and dated. The bath was old, rusty and barely usable for an adult, and the shower swung between boiling hot and freezing cold. The bathroom light didn't work either. Breakfast was a very small cooked meal and not worth the extra cost. We also paid £10 for parking on site. We've stayed in places for half the price and had better service, so we left feeling completely ripped off.
