Ocean View Hotel

The location was lovely for the beach and shops, but I wouldn't return. The hotel felt very dated, and the staff seemed few in number and not especially welcoming. The double bed was the smallest I've ever seen. We're not large people, but had to sleep top and tail, and it was so uncomfortable I barely slept. The shower pressure was awful, just a trickle, and we had to leave it running a long time before the water got hot. It didn't feel worth the money.

I was very disappointed and wish I'd checked reviews instead of rushing and relying on the supplied photos. The room was booked for two adults and two children, but had only a double bed and a single. It was very dirty and run down, with pubic hair everywhere. The toilet was cleaner than the shower. This may have been a three-star hotel 20 years ago, but now it would struggle to earn one. Even if I were homeless, I'd consider other options first. I've seen the owner's replies justifying the conditions by the price and location. Hospitality doesn't seem to be their passion. This was a terrible experience, and they should aim higher.

The building could use a lot of work to reach a high standard, and it may not suit anyone after supreme comfort. For our one night, though, it was respectable and ticked the right boxes. We were pleasantly surprised to find three single beds in the room, although we'd booked a double and a single for three adults. The room was clean, with fresh sheets, a useful mini fridge, and a TV whose remote worked. The bathroom was decent and had enough toiletries. Check-in and checkout were very fast, with all the key information provided. There's also a lift for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.

We booked at the last minute because it was close to the beach and the cheapest place we could find. There were two adults and two children, and we got three single beds, two pushed together. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean but lacked decoration, and the staff were welcoming. We left a bag with important keys behind, thanks to my stupid partner, and got an email about it within an hour. They kindly posted the keys back for free. Thanks very much, we'd definitely stay here again.
