The Chocolate Boutique Hotel

The bed was really comfy, and we had a great night’s sleep in this quiet area, just a few minutes from the town centre. The room was exquisitely decorated, and the homemade chocolates were delicious. A lovely hamper was waiting when we arrived. Staff were extremely pleasant and personable, and breakfast was good quality and served promptly with a smile. We’d definitely recommend it.

From the entrance, the hotel feels cosy and inviting, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The location is central to town and easy to get to. Our room was clean and beautifully designed, with chocolate artwork. I spent a night here and would definitely stay again and recommend it to everyone.

The staff were very attentive, especially the kitchen team, and it’s only about a five-minute walk to the seafront, which made for a lovely stroll and view. But the stay had some real drawbacks. The walls let through a lot of noise, and our suite was next to the bar, where guests stayed until 11pm despite management saying it closed to guests at 9:30pm. After a three-hour drive, we wanted to rest, so that felt poorly managed. The bathroom had no ventilation, and the windows were locked shut, making it unpleasantly stuffy. We also went without shower gel for two days while staff replaced the complimentary chocolate instead. Without those issues, I’d have given it five stars.

This has become my usual choice for Bournemouth breaks and special occasions. I’ve stayed three times now, and the location is easy to reach, with parking at the hotel or on the quiet road outside. The rooms are all different and have thoughtful extras. My favourite is the chocolate fountain. On my latest visit, for Valentine’s, the towels had been folded into swans and there was a chocolate heart on the bed with rose petals. Reception staff are always friendly and happy to help. Highly recommended.
